Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of Monadnock Bible Baptist Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.
The Scriptures
We believe that the Bible is the inerrant, inspired Word of God and it is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice.

Salvation
We believe that the salvation of man is and always has been wholly of grace through faith and made possible through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the only atonement for sins; that the death of the Lord Jesus Christ for man was a voluntary substitution of Himself in the sinner’s place, the just dying for the unjust, the Lord bearing man’s sins in His own body on the tree that man might be pardoned and receive the gift of eternal life; and that no man is justified before God by any works of righteousness which he has done, but solely through faith in the Redeemer’s shed blood; that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by the power of God and are thus secure in Christ forever!
John 3:7. Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13, I Corinthians 2:12; I John 1:9, Romans 3:23-25; 5:18; 8:9; 10:9-10, II Peter 3:9
John 3:7. Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13, I Corinthians 2:12; I John 1:9, Romans 3:23-25; 5:18; 8:9; 10:9-10, II Peter 3:9
Baptism
The members of MBBC have been baptized by immersion (the first act of obedience to Christ) and as a public testimony of their salvation. Acts 8:36-37
God-Head
There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God is a Person, eternally existing, as a God-Head in unity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—three Persons and yet one God. As the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19, I Corinthians 8:6

Our Lives
We believe genuine, born-again believers in Christ should seek to live holy lives, separated from all worldliness, and by doing so, grow in faith and grace. We believe true, spiritual, and eternal fruit will be produced by the believer as a result of complete surrender to the will of God. John 15:16, Romans 12:1-2, II Corinthians 6:19-20, 7:11, I Timothy 4:7; 6:11, II Corinthians 1:12, Titus 2:12, II Peter 3:17-18
Service
The local church is a group of believers baptized by water; banded together for edification, exhortation, and evangelism as commanded by Christ in the Great Commission: preaching the Gospel to every creature.
Mark 16:15, I Corinthians 12:12, Ephesians 1:22–23
Mark 16:15, I Corinthians 12:12, Ephesians 1:22–23
The Church
We believe the church was created and is sustained by the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe the church is a local, independent, autonomous body of believers, called to the purpose of proclaiming the gospel, teaching sound doctrine, and exhorting the brethren. We believe the local New Testament church should be self-governed and self-supported and should be led by pastors with the assistance of deacons. We believe the church has three principal missions: to evangelize the world to exhort believers and train disciples.
Matthew 16:18; 28: 19-20, Acts 1:8; 2:46-47; 11:26, I Timothy 3:15, Hebrews 10:24
Matthew 16:18; 28: 19-20, Acts 1:8; 2:46-47; 11:26, I Timothy 3:15, Hebrews 10:24
Family Relations
We believe men and women are spiritually equal in position before God, and that God has ordained distinct and separate spiritual functions for men and women in the home and church. The husband is to be the leader of the home, and men are to be leaders of the church. Accordingly, only naturally-born men are eligible to hold positions as Pastors or Deacons.
Galatians 3:28, Colossians 3:18, I Timothy 2:8-15, I Timothy 3:4-5, I Timothy 3:12.
We believe that God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. The husband is to love his wife as Christ loves the church. The wife is to submit herself to the scriptural leadership of her husband, as the church submits to the headship of Christ. Children are a heritage from the Lord. Parents are responsible for teaching their children spiritual and moral values through consistent lifestyle, instruction and correction.
Genesis 1:26-28, Exodus 20:12, Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Psalm 127:3-5, Proverbs 19:18; 22:15; 23:13-14, Mark 10:6-12, I Corinthians 7:1-16, Ephesians 5:21-33, Ephesians 6:1-4, Colossians 3:18-21, Hebrew 13:4, I Pt 3:1-7.

End Times
Jesus Christ, Himself, will soon come again in the air to catch up His Church to reward its service. The unbelievers left behind will go through a period called the Tribulation, after which Christ will return to the earth to set up His Kingdom for one thousand years of righteous rule. After this, the unbelievers of all ages will stand at the Great White Throne to be judged and cast into the Lake of Fire, separated from God forever, while the believers spend eternity with Him in His eternal Kingdom in the fullness of joy in Heaven with the Lord. Matthew 24:29–42, I Thessalonians 4:16–18, Revelation 19:11 and 20:13
